Museum Founders Circle
Colorado Asian Pacific United’s goal is to create the first Asian and Pacific Islander history and culture museum in the Rocky Mountain region. Our vision serves a variety of purposes beyond education- gathering spaces for community, physical ways of anchoring cultural neighborhoods, opportunities to foster local creative talent, and multimodal avenues for intergenerational dialogues. You can be part of this vision as part of the Museum Founders Circle.

Your support is key to continuing our storytelling initiatives from Denver's Historic Chinatown that no longer exist, to Little Saigon which is under threat of gentrification, to Asian adoptees searching for belonging, to Pacific Islander diasporas and their narratives, and more.
Volunteer
Bring Your Skills. Build What’s Next.
Introducing Colorado Asian Pacific United’s new volunteer program.
We love that we have so many passionate community members who want to get involved. However, we have grappled with the same questions a lot of nonprofits face. You don’t need busy work. We don’t need volunteers that aren’t deeply serving our mission.
What if we built a volunteer program based on creating collaborations when your skills and our needs intersect?
CAPU’s work is project-driven, and being effective often requires the right skills, context, and timing. That’s why we’re launching a new way to get involved that works for everyone involved.
-
We don’t currently offer drop-in volunteer shifts as our programs require long-term commitments.
Which means we are interested in building enduring partnerships where your skills can make a meaningful difference. Check the skill wishlist below and reach out to contact@coloradoasianpacificunited.org to join our network.
This approach helps us make good use of your time while ensuring that volunteer contributions are connected to current needs.
-
Our current skills wish list includes (in order of priority):
Urban planning
Real estate and property acquisition
Fundraising
Legislation and policy
Research
K–12 school administration
Property development
3-D modeling
Vietnamese reading and writing comprehension
Canvassing
Event catering and sponsorship
Journalism, blogging, and writing
This list will be updated quarterly as our needs evolve. If you see yourself in the list above, and are ready to take the next step unearthing, preserving, and celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander histories with us, reach out to contact@coloradoasianpacificunited.org

There’s more than one way to contribute.
Maybe you have a specialized professional skill. Maybe you have community connections, resources, a space to share, or experience we haven’t thought to ask for yet.
Sometimes the best way to get involved is simply to show up.
Come to an event. Attend a program. Meet people. Learn about what we’re working on. Bring a friend. Sharing space and showing up with an open mind is part of building a strong community.
We review volunteer needs regularly and update our skills wish list quarterly.
